The world of fitness is often crossed by meteors, fashionable phenomena that are consumed over a season. Very often, these are just functional advertising items to attract new customers to gyms, but behind all this smoke there is little substance.

Created by the Italian trainer Oliviero ???, the Strike Zone is a free-body training technique that takes place using momas, the only tool allowed in this technique.
What is the Strike Zone
The Strike Zone is a free-body workout that uses all the possibilities of movement of the human body and is aimed at acquiring strength, stability and flexibility. Through a series of exercises taken from martial arts and yoga, the body learns to calibrate the strength and breadth of its movements, with visible results and without causing damage to the joints or back. One of the greatest advantages of the Strike Zone is indeed the continuous strengthening of the abdominal wall, pursued as an objective not only aesthetic but also medical and sports. Strong and sturdy abdominals have the advantage of increasing the strength during the exercises, repairing the spine from traumas and tears, improving vital functions through the containment of internal organs and supporting the diaphragm.
Training with moma
A strike zone training session lasts 40 to 50 minutes. The lesson is accompanied by music and includes four training phases: dynamity, power, ability, balance. All lessons are held with the moma, a special tool created specifically for this discipline. The moma has the shape of a flattened sphere, is made of wood and resin and has two surfaces, the first suitable to be easily gripped and the second to slide on the floor in a fluid manner and without resistance. A good part of the Strike Zone exercises, in fact, takes place by lying down, even if there is no lack of standing or sitting exercises: for this reason, the Strike Zone is defined as a 4D workout.
The Strike Zone with moma is gradually spreading in the most advanced Italian gyms. To train teachers, the creators of the program have created courses and masters dedicated to trainers.
The reception of the public
For the moment, public reception seems good. Sure, the Strike Zone is not suitable for those who just want to “delude themselves” that they are dealing with real exercises. The exercises with the moma, in fact, can also be very tiring and requires a high concentration ability. If done correctly, however, they can speed up the arrival of results, with noticeable improvements on the shape and well-being of people.
